I think illusion writing is one of the most fascinating and beautiful mental pathways I’ve come across. It happens when I get to the point where I feel really tired and I want to get out of the house and not have to be tethered to it all day. I’ve discovered that if I get into this state where I feel like I’m “fading away into the distance,” then I’m really working on the illusion of writing.
Illusion writing is the same way. You feel like Im fading away, but Im also feeling like Im fading away. I can feel a difference between Im fading away because I am tired, and Im fading away because Im tired.
The illusion is a process of convincing yourself that Im fading away because Im tired, so that when Im tired I can actually do something (like write). Im tired and Im writing. It’s a really weird trick, but it works. I feel like Im writing because I feel Im tired and Im writing because Im tired.
I’m definitely tired, but I also feel like Im writing because Im tired. And I feel like I’m writing because I’m tired. I feel like I’m tired because Im writing, but Im writing because Im tired.
